  • Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Breathe deeply and slowly, and let the music wash over you. By being able to focus on and control your breathing, your body can start relaxing much faster.
  • Don’t worry if your mind wanders. It’s natural for your thoughts to come and go during meditation. Just gently bring your attention back to your breath and the music.
  • Stay for as long as you like. There is no set time for music meditation, so it can be as short or as long as you want. It can be 15 minutes before you head out for work or even an hour before you go to bed. It really is up to you!

Don’t:

  • Don’t force it. If you’re having trouble relaxing or focusing, it’s okay to stop and try another time again. Forcing yourself will only make the experience worse, and that’s something we hope you don’t end up with.
  • Don’t worry if you can’t “clear your mind.” It’s normal for thoughts to come and go during meditation. Just gently bring your attention back to your breath and the music.
  • Don’t judge yourself. Meditation is not about achieving perfection. It’s about finding a little bit of peace and relaxation in your day. It is through these little bits that you find thorough enjoyment in meditation. By accepting that each experience is a little unique and imperfect, you can achieve relaxation much better.
